My name is Sheree Stone. I fell in love with poodles for many reasons. Most of all I wanted to hunt over a poodle. I also wanted other people to discover this great hunting dog as I have. I wanted to help bring the hunt back to the poodle. I am the founder and creator of our Medallion program. When the late Mary Lebet and I went to the late Annie Clark to discuss the possibility of a medallion program she was very receptive. We felt this new program could develop interest for individuals to return year after year to compete in hunting poodle events. She thought it was a great plan and took it to the PCA Board. The Medallion program has proven to be a tremendous success. During our conversations about promoting the hunting poodle our main concern was that the hunting poodle should not stray from the Poodle Standard, as many other hunting breeds have done. It is my belief that the hunting poodle community is living up to this commitment. After my experience at PCA I realized what the late Annie, the late Mary and I had feared is happening. It is not the hunting poodle that is falling, but of course it is our beautiful and beloved show poodles.
